Mott MacDonald are to provide the financial institutions
funding the project with expert, objective and detailed analysis of
the technical, financial and operational aspects of a secure
satellite communications system.
The brief is to act as lenders’ technical advisor to the financing
banks to ensure that the implications of technical and design
decisions are fully understood and do not result in unacceptable
transfer of risk towards the lenders. Our role covers all aspects
of the project, including review and comment on the construction
processes and activities of the prime contractor in the delivery of
the Skynet 5 System, and the operational performance of the service
delivery company as it delivers services using the evolving
system.
Mott MacDonald’s responsibilities include:
- approval of the system integration
- providing an acceptance strategy
- verification, testing and acceptance for the system agreement
upon the adequacy of through life arrangements

technology to make informed, objective decisions on complex
technical and programme matters.
